I looked at the ELA standards for grades 6-8. The one that I think I would have the most knowledge about would be the standard about integrating visual information with other information in print and digital texts. For example, this would include some resources to create graphs, charts, or images and implement them within the learning environment. This can also include using word to create some of these things and I feel that I have a great understanding of how to do this. One standard that I think would require me to get a better understanding of would be the one about comparing and contrasting information from sources of experiments or stimulations. The only thing about this standard would be to get more familiar with online programs that have stimulations or experiments.
In the CPALMS Educator toolkit there are many different resources for teachers and students to use within a classroom. One of the main things I think I would use in a classroom would be the games. I explored many of the different games for different subjects and I think they all have some sort of entertainment with them. Students, especially younger ones, have a small attention span and like to be entertained. I feel with learning games it does the job of trying to teach the students what they need to learn but also in a fun, entertaining way.
I enjoyed working on the Newsletter assignment very much. One of the reasons why I want to become a teacher is because of the creativity and crafty things that come with it. I feel that I am very proficient with word and found it easy to create the layout of the pages and to make it look very pleasing for students. I liked the images and the colors that I used, I thought they all went very well together. While doing the assignment I did learn a couple of new things about using word like different features to make sure the text and images stay in place.

My name is Nicole. I am a sophomore here at Florida State University majoring in Business Management with a minor in Education. I am from Miami, FL. I enjoy watching and playing sports. My prior experience using educational technology is mostly with a lot of Microsoft applications such as word, excel, and power point. I would say i am very proficient with all three of these applications. I have also been using canvas here at the university with all of my classes. I have also used some game sites for class such as second life which has an interactive world with lessons based on whatever subject. In this class I hope to learn about the different educational technologies that teachers have and can use.I believe I am familiar with only a few that are to there and hope to learn about more. ILP 1 Participation: Educational Technology for Student Success

The activity I did for this project was an activity on Lynda.com. This activity was all about educational technology and how teachers can use them on a daily basis in their own classroom. It was very easy to use Lynda.com and navigate through the activity. It was interesting to see all the different educational technology examples that were named throughout the activity because there were a couple that I did not know about. In my voice thread I included some of the key points I got out of the activity as well as proof of completion with a document of my notes I took during the activity. Word is a very common application used as a student now in time. I have used word for quite some time with writing assignments or something else. For the most part I think I have used word for almost every single class since high school. Word is very easy and helpful when trying to format a document or type something up. I feel as if teachers also use word as much as students do. Now in college teacher post many documents such as notes and study guides. From what I can remember I think we learned about copyright and plagiarism when we were younger and how it is bad. I think now that technology and the world wide web is so easy to access it is important for students to know what they can and can do with the information they find from websites.
